A GOOD FRIDAY OF SORTS
With spring's flock of daffodils,
The black days come,
Sadness,
Dense as stone.
Yellow forsythia pales in
Desert's madness.
The church bell tolls,
A mournful voice, heavy
On the wind.
My thoughts are sorrow,
Opaque and scattered.
