Grasp
That it isn't as it was once,
Sand marking the footprints
Of my beloved,
Tracing the long thin toes.

I was baptized in the blue green sea,
Tasting a communion
Of salt,
And my Brother and I played
Side by side,
Digging in the ebb at water's edge,
Jesus,
Tan and laughing.

Do you rise with him on Easter?

Personally, I sink.
Dive
Into a sea of sadness,
Swim in a world of mirror
Memories,

Where I understand
Nothing.
