MY DOG and ME

We are thankful
There's a little trail behind
Our house.

Sunday afternoons we walk it,
Pretend
We're on a hike.

There are trees and birds and lizards
On our path,
And circles of shade.

It's quiet when we walk,
Peaceful,

And we love one another.
