WILDERNESS: JESUS' TEMPTATION
A chaos of shapes,
Ephemerally cubed, spherically solid,
Whispering groaning
Come!
Howling grace,
There is a wilderness within.
The heart breaks into shards,
Crystals
Lost forever in stars.
Merciful God, a shower of tears
Rusts
The eight inch spikes hammered
Into his hands.
And all the while we pray,
"Our Father who art in heaven..."
