HEAT WAVE
Here in the desert the summer heat
Stifles the brain,
Allowing through only a slender
Shaft of thought.
Reason shatters,
Burns to a crisp in wildfires both
Flaming
And of the mind.
But oh I seek the restless
Imagination of cooler days,
Vanished
Into the heavens where
Angels await.
